2nd edition of City Development Forum was held from 12 to 13 September 2018. Urban logistics was the main topic this year.<\/b><\/p>\n
The event was organised by the city of Pozna\u0144 and Volkswagen Pozna\u0144 and was opened by Jacek Ja\u015bkowiak, the mayor of Pozna\u0144, and Jens Ocksen, the President of Management Board of Volkswagen Pozna\u0144.<\/p>\n
The first day of the Forum was devoted to presentations by Polish and foreign experts and a debate, during which its participants discussed the issue of sharing vehicles in cargo transport.<\/p>\n
Violetta Wabi\u0144ska-Chmielwska, director of the Transport and Green Areas Department of the Municipal Office of Pozna\u0144, talked about solutions applied in Pozna\u0144, the priority of which is green, mobile city. Pozna\u0144 invests in public transport, expands the offer of shared cars and scooters, and Pozna\u0144\u2019s Municipal Bike, which should reach 3 million of hires this year, is preparing to enter 4th generation. Pozna\u0144 Metropolitan Railway is being developed, which just launched a new line to Swarz\u0119dz. The city concluded agreement with a company which is to design stations along the rail ring road of Pozna\u0144. Soon, 50 new, fully low-floor trams, 37 environmentally friendly buses with very low emission and 21 electric buses will appear on the roads. The city systematically turns off traffic lights systems in the city centre to make the traffic more run more smoothly and facilitate pedestrian movement.<\/p>\n
Speakers were telling participants about solutions that they had employed. Emil Konrad from Papukurier spoke about ways to estimate the number of drivers required for fluent handling of restaurant orders. Artur Olejniczak from the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing presented a concept of a commodity tram, inspired by the one in Dresden. Jakub Kaczmarski from Allegro shared the results of research conducted by the company, in accordance with which young people prefer to collect packages from package machines instead of waiting for a courier.<\/p>\n
To speakers of the Forum belonged also e.g. Mr. Juan Echevarria, lecturer of digital design and automation at the University in Cantabria and Ms. Birgit Hendriks, co-creator of NGO Eco2city, the purpose of which is convincing transport companies to leave packages in one place, from which their company will distribute them to addressees with their own cars instead of entering the city.<\/p>\n
Second day of the event was devoted to workshops. Their participants discussed consolidation of transport concerning goods and people, sustainable urban logistics in Pozna\u0144, tools and methods of urban logistics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
